Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
Our rental service offers vehicles to your personal injury clients with no deposit, no credit card, and no upfront payment required. Designed specifically for not-at-fault clients, our model secures payment through a lien on their active case. This ensures a seamless, no-cost transportation solution that supports your client’s recovery and keeps your case moving forward.
How do I get my client a vehicle?
Firstly, you will need to fill out a referral pad (which can be found here: Referral Pad).
Once your team completes the referral form, simply fax or email it to our office. Upon receipt, Rent-A-Liens will promptly contact your client to schedule their rental vehicle pick-up.
A lien-based rental agreement will then be drafted and sent to your office for attorney review and signature. Please note: the vehicle cannot be released to the client until the signed contract is returned.
Who is eligible for this service?
Our service is available to anyone with an open case. Clients must have the state minimum in Liability insurance in order to rent a vehicle.
What documentation is required?
Your client will need a valid driver's license and proof of insurance, that's it. Once clients sign the rental agreement they will be on their way with a rental car.
How long can my client keep the rental?
We have a maximum rental period of 3 months per client, per case.
Are you licensed and insured?
Licensed- Bonded- Insured
What types of vehicles are available?
Rent-A-Liens offers a dependable short-term transportation solution tailored for your personal injury clients. Our top priority is ensuring your clients have access to a reliable vehicle so they can attend medical appointments, handle daily responsibilities, and maintain continuity in their lives during the legal process. We provide a diverse fleet of clean, well-maintained vehicles — not luxury cars, but comfortable, practical, and ready for the road.
Can I secure payment through the 3rd party insurance and not a lien?
Absolutely — this is a strong alternative to a traditional rental lien. If a third party (such as an at-fault insurer or MedPay provider) is responsible for your client’s rental costs, we can either accept full payment directly or apply that amount as a reduction to your client’s outstanding lien balance.
For example: If the third party pays $600 toward the rental, we’ll credit that amount to the lien, reducing what’s owed at settlement by the same amount.
Does your service accept reductions?
Partnering with Rent-A-Liens means your clients stay mobile — without compromising their settlement.
We understand the importance of preserving case value, which is why we provide reliable transportation with no upfront cost, secured by a lien on the case. Our team is committed to working collaboratively with your firm to reach fair and reasonable lien resolutions at settlement.
As a valued partner, your firm will benefit from preferred pricing and greater flexibility in lien reductions based on referral volume. The more clients you send our way, the more we can do to support both your practice and your clients.
